Pigmentation Treatment In Gurgaon

Pigmentation means coloring. Skin pigmentation disorders affect the color of your skin. Your skin gets its color from a pigment called melanin. Special cells in the skin make melanin. When these cells become damaged or unhealthy, it affects melanin production. Some pigmentation disorders affect just patches of skin. Others affect your entire body.

Types of pigmentation:

  1. Melasma is a common skin condition that causes dark and discolored patches on your skin. In general, it is also known as chloasma, or the “mask of pregnancy,”, when it occurs in pregnant women. If we notice, this skin condition is much more common in women than men, though men can get it too. Melasma causes gray-brown patches that usually appear on the face, most of the people get it on their cheeks, forehead, chin, bridge of their nose, and above their upper lip too.
  2. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (also known as PIH and hyperpigmentation caused by inflammation) is a type of hyperpigmentation that can affect the face and body. It appears as flat spots of discolouration. These range in color from pink to red, brown or black, depending on skin tone and the depth of discolouration.Men and women are equally susceptible, and all skin types can get post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation although it is more prevalent in darker tones of skin. In fact, PIH is one of the most common reasons why people with darker skins seek the advice of a dermatologist.
